Auldrant: Present Day
The world is ruled by Yulia's prophecy, her visions of the future known as The Score. People believe in the coming "unprecedented prosperity" promised in The Score, never straying from the path set forth in The Score, which will lead them to that Prosperity. They look to the Score, as revealed by The Order of Lorelei, the religion Yulia founde, and hold that the greatest virtue, is to follow the Score faithfully.
Yulia's Score tells of a young man who is neccesary in order to bring "unprecedented prosperity". His name is Luke fon Fabre. An heir of the Kingdom of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, he was kidnapped as a child by the Kingdom's enemy, the Malkuth Empire. Since his return he has been confined to his family's manor for his own safety. He has no idea of the evil that draws close.
The Kingdom of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, to the west, and the Malkuth Empire, to the East, are once again at the brink of war, brought forth from the desire the Fonstones, pieces of Yulia's score, each as large as a mountain, in order to gain presedence, and the advantage of knowing the future. After the end of the Hod War, a war over the Seventh Fonstone, located in the Hod Archipelago, which ended in the destruction of the entire island chain, both countries have reached a standstill. But tensions between the two Nations have never been resolved, and have only grown more tense as years passed.
And in the midst of it all, Fon master Ion, the leader of The Order of Lorelai, has vanished, only worsening the political tension between Kimlasca and Malkuth, as Oracle Knights, members of the Order's military force, travel through all the lands of Auldrant, eager to find him, and confirm his whereabouts.
