How mankind utilizes Fonons
The Fonon has always been a subject of study to Mankind, and Man has sought ways to use fonon power in technology. Fontech, refers to this technology, which are single inventions, such as lights, and other items which have day-today uses. Fon Machines are mechanical contraptions, such as Lifts and the gargantuan Landships used by both Kimlasca and Malkuth.
Aside from thier adapted uses in technology, man has also utilized Fonons to be used directly from thier own bodies.
Fonic Artes
Fonic Artes are words written and spoken in Ancient Ispanian, the ancient languaged used in the dawn Age. They are incantations that use Fonon Power cast by thier enchantors, which draw the neccesary Fonons needed to give the spell power, and then release it, causing varying effects. Most Fonic Artes are element based, and can be used to exploit various weaknesses of certain foes. Fonic Artes have now been translated into the Fonic Language, which is used by most of the world in Present Day Auldrant.
Fonic Artes can change, based on certain concentrations of a particular area that the Artes are cast in. These concentrations of Fonons are Called Fields of Fonons, which primarily contain one type of element power. The six elements are grouped together into two groups of Fonon Types, that cause Fonic Artes to have different reactions based on the Affinity of the Fields of Fonons.
Third, Fifth and Sixth Fonons have the affinity of Rem, and all Fonic Artes of these Elements change type and elemental focus when used in a Rem Affinitied Fields of Fonons.
First, Second, and Fourth Fonons have the affinity of Shadow, and all Fonic Artes of these Elements change type and elemental focus when used in a Shadow Affinitied Fields of Fonons.
There have been cases in which Fonic Artes change type when used in a different Fields of Fonons, however, and such cases only occur in certain distinct Fonic Artes.
Strike Artes are the physical counterpart of Fonic Artes. They require the same focus, but are only triggered with certain physical actions, and only have a limited area of reach where thier effects manifest. Strike Artes are quick to power and easy to use, and are quicker than Fonic Artes.
Fonists
Fonists are individuals who gather and use Fonon Power, and can use Fonic Artes of all Fonon Types, using words written in Fonic Verse, which is the equivalent of Spells and Incantations. Fonists are also able to use Strike Artes.
Anyone who can gather Fonons easily and control them can be a Fonist, and the numbers of such people are limited, which makes those who can use Fonic Artes valuable to both Research Groups and Military branches.
